At this moment there are around 900 EWC agreements in place. The 2009 EWC Directive which
will become legally effective as from June 2011 requires a higher quality of functioning, especially
around issues of cross-border restructuring.
The challenge now is to take the EWCs to a next level and to turn them into a meaningful
and value added tool both for the company and its employees.
