We are unstoppable! After experiencing strong growth last year, things are looking just as bright for our company this year. To keep up with the rising demand and continue serving our clients in the most efficient way possible, we decided to look for an extra team member to support our project managers for multilingual meetings.
And that is how we got the chance to meet Shadi Azari! We are so happy to introduce this great and energetic lady to you!
Shadi tell us a bit more about yourself.
I am 26, I am Belgian and Iranian and I am currently living in Riemst, Belgium. Before joining Presence, I was in Scotland, studying for a Masters degree in event management and international tourism, and before that I lived in London, where I studied for my Bachelor's degree.. Working in Maastricht is exactly what I want to do and I’m very happy to be here at Presence to grow and evolve together!
Wow, what an interesting multicultural background! I’m sure this international aspect is something that has shaped you to some extent but are there other things that set you apart from the rest?
I believe indeed that I am very culturally aware as I grew up in an international background and have lived in many different countries. I speak English and French, and I’m currently learning Dutch. I love to learn about other cultures and new traditions. Travelling and exploring new places really interests me and being able to discuss, network and work with people from all over the world is something I have always wanted to include in my career. I guess something that is ‘typically me’ is the fact that I am not 100% Dutch, Belgian, Iranian or English, instead I am proud to have such a mixed heritage and understanding of these cultures!
Also, I am a movie expert and have seen basically everything on Netflix :)
Great, now we know who to turn to for tips!
What do you hope to achieve after 3 years at Presence?
I hope to grow to my fullest potential and to be able to get to the point where I can confidently lead and coordinate projects. I hope to build a network and opportunities for myself and for my colleagues here at Presence. Another goal would be to be able to work well with the team and to work closely with everyone so that coming to the office becomes something I look forward to!
To round up, what is your favorite motivational quote and why?
“The moment you doubt whether you can fly, you cease forever to be able to do it.” - J.M. Barrie, Peter Pan. This quote resonates with me because it just shows how having confidence in yourself can push you towards achieving things that you never thought you were capable of. Perseverance, commitment and motivation are extremely important to reach your goals, so ‘believing’ that you can fly can bring you to places you could only have dreamed of. Another reason why I picked this quote is that I loved reading Peter Pan as a child and I always thought that the story was exciting, interesting and inspiring.
