In light of the positive evaluation of European Works Councils, the Commission proposes to create a practical handbook and provide €7 million funding to support the implementation of the Directive and the effectiveness of European Works Councils.

All stakeholders, including national authorities and social partners, consider the rules under the new Directive relevant and find that they offer a significant contribution to ensuring transnational social dialogue at company level. According to the report, information for workers has improved in terms of quality and scope. The Commission also finds that the effectiveness of the consultation procedure can still be improved.

Tanja Haak will be the speaker for this HR WEBTALK.

Tanja is a senior EWC adviser and managing partner of Haak-O’Riordan Consulting.
She has been assisting European Works Councils with all legal matters since the EWC directive came into force and she was instrumental in negotiating and drafting many EWC agreements.

Peter Van Den Steene, CEO of Presence and senior adviser of The Presence Academy will be the moderator for this session.

Peter has worked with HR professionals for over 20 years and he is an expert in HR communications. He helps organisations by challenging their thinking and to build roadmaps in order to help them to communicate complex issues in persuasive ways to diverse audiences.
